OUR JOURNEY


The business was founded by the late Mr Ernst Christiaan (Christo) Blaauw in 1979. The business started out with a 10 m³ Tipper Truck, D4 CAT Bulldozer & a CAT 920 Loader.

The business was operated as a sole proprietary in Randfontein until operations moved to Rustenburg in 1999. By this time Christo Blaauw was an established entrepreneur. The business continued to expand and as a result EC Blaauw Transport CC was established in 2004. The first contract was secured with Aquarius Platinum Mine which gave the opportunity for further growth. After laying a solid foundation for the business Christo Blaauw sadly passed away in 2011. The family business has grown each year and converted to a private company in 2014 of which Mr. RA Aucamp and Ms. N Aucamp are the current directors. Currently the business has a fleet of over 30 vehicles and also utilises many sub contractors. Current customers include major civil contractors and mining houses. 02 EC

BEE STATUS & COMPANY PROFILE


EC Blaauw Transport currently has a Level 5 BEE rating with 51% black ownership. A minimum Level 4 rating is the future goal.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

In the immediate future the following goals have been set:

  • Securing of additional long term contracts
  • Expanding our fleet by acquisition and the utilisation of additional sub-contractors
  • Increasing productivity and efficiency
